42-3111 B17-F ( The Brass Rail )
Originally assigned to the 335th BS in May 1943, this aircraft was later transferred to the 324th BS 91st BG based at Bassingbourn.
Renamed “Local Girl”, it was lost over Emden 27th September 1943, crashing at Geefsweer, Holland.
Casualties were four KIA and 10 POW.

My dad was on this aircraft “Local Girl” when it crashed in Holland. He was the right waist gunner, Frederick E. Hutchinson. He was captured and taken to Stalag 17B along with the other members of the crew that survived.
