This particular L-5 was flown by Harry (Bill) Weeks. Harry is still alive and lives in Yuma, AZ.
The L-5 was also used by the Air Commandos in the CBI. In 1945, my dad, M/Sgt William Klein of the 2nd Air Commando Group, 155th Liaison Squadron, Commando, was a member of a flight of 30 L-5s that flew over the Hump to Kunming China during monsoon thunderstorms. 29 planes made the flight succesfully; one crashed. The pilot was able to make it safely back to the Allies.
