“Mr Five by Five” was one of the few B-26′s of the 386/555th to make it through the war without any serious damage. Pictured is one of the last missions flown by S/Sgt. Frank Osetek before rotating home after completing 50 missions on this bird. Crew of “Mr. Five by Five” included Captain Bob Sands, (P), 1st. Lt. Lewis Schrecengost (CP), Captain Joe Ross (BN), S/Sgt. George Waite (E/G), T/Sgt. Edward Pitts (R/G), S/Sgt. Osetek (A/G).

I had an uncle who was on b-29 serial number 42-63393 that was lost over pacific ocean. it’s name was “RUSH ORDER”

This aircraft has been on display at VFW post 382 since 1957. as of 03/22/12 it is undergoing repairs due to corrosion damage to the port wing. It will receive a complete facelift including tires and paint in 2012
