the completion of the tests, the special modifications were removed (but the long
nose was retained) and the plane was put out on the Edwards
AFB photo test range. There were at one time plans for
the aircraft to be restored for future Flight Test Pilot Museum, but as of 2004 the plane
is still out on the range in fairly poor condition.
666 (c/n 7) on display at Chanute AFB as 61-2059. Later painted
as itself. When noted at Octave Chanute Aerospace Museum September 2003 was still
painted (or has again been repainted) as 12059
667 destroyed 6/4/60 near Lubbock, TX due to
loss of control during normal flight.
668 converted to TB-58A, then converted into electronic reconnaissance testbed.
To MASDC as BQ0081 (or BQ0084) Jan 16, 1970. Put on display at Southwest Aerospace Museum,
Fort Worth, TX. Following closure of that museum, transferred to Meacham Airport where
it was to be put in a museum to be built at the
airport. Plans for the museum were dropped. Briefly moved to AF Plant No 4 and displayed to
celebrate the 50th anniversary of the CONVAIR plant. Plane then moved to the Lone Star Flight
Museum of Galveston, TX in 1990
